Winners Presented To The Judges Panel November 13th

ESI Analyst is excited to be one of the four winners selected to present during the 2020 Georgetown Global Advanced eDiscovery Institute’s Judge Tank session. The Judge Tank session featured a panel of distinguished Judges that were presented with the four winning entrepreneurial ideas from lawyers, law students, non-lawyers, vendors and the like. During the panel, the four winners pitched their novel and creative ideas about eDiscovery, privacy, or Big Data to the Judges, similar to the popular TV program “Shark Tank”. The ideas were then evaluated for their creativity and problem-solving potential.

The panel was emceed by David K. Gaston, Chief, E-Litigation Branch, National Labor Relations Board.

The Judges leading the panel were:

  • Hon. Hildy Bowbeer, Magistrate Judge, U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota
  • Hon. Paul W. Grimm, District Judge, U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland
  • Hon. Xavier Rodriguez, District Judge, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas
  • Hon. Elizabeth A. Stafford, Magistrate Judge, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan

ESI Analyst presented on the high value of digital evidence to both the civil and criminal justice system, outlining their transformative process of electronic data presentation and matter time-lining. Current eDiscovery processes often require digital evidence to be translated into some sort of “document” format prior to legal review and analysis. Some of this data never existed as a “document”. Combined with an archaic per gigabyte pricing model this methodology is driving matter costs and access to justice out of reach, placing unnecessary burden on both civil and criminal investigators, as well as the Courts.

The Discovery Judge Tank Panel wrapped up this year’s Global AEDI conference that was held on November 12th and 13th Trent Livingston, CEO of ESI Analyst, will be answering questions during the live Q&A with the Judges  at 4:00PM EST, November 13, 2020 with live Q&A following the four finalists at 5:15PM EST. “It is a great honor to be selected as one of the winners of the competition,” Mr. Livingston commented, “we are humbled to be amongst such a great group of presenters. We can’t thank Georgetown Law and the Judges enough for this great opportunity.”

A special thank you to the Georgetown Law Global AEDI Conference.
